Dear all,

Here we are already in June! The good weather is back and the vaccination campaign is going well here in France... and we have received the first printed samples of the project! But before we get into the heart of this production update, here is an important reminder about the Pledge Manager.

Very last backers will receive an email from the Pledge Manager Backerkit asking you if you would like to make a final adjustment to your account and the options you have chosen. Most of you (92% backers) are already all set :)

Your credit cards will be charged in one month, at the very beginning of July.

If you have any issue or need help, please do not hesitate to write to us. Well, we receive a lot of messages and we are a small team... we try to answer everyone but it may take a little time, so please be patient :) If you don't hear from us after a week, please contact us again.

For those who have also backed the Encyclopedia project, some parts of this update are duplicates, sorry for that. But you'll discover new production images ^^ Note also that the credit cards for the Creatures Pledge Manager will only be debited in July, in one month.

Production Update

This past month has seen some great steps ahead in production! It may not be the most glamorous part, but when you're indie authors like us, you have to deal with all the production and logistics in addition to creating the books. And that's no mean feat. This month we have had many exchanges with the printer to produce the samples before mass production.

Receiving them is always a very special moment! After years of work, we have in our hands the first concrete results of our work. And we are happy to share this moment with you :)

Not all items are here but here are some pictures of the very first samples:

Overall we are very happy with the sample so far ! They come off really well, are really good quality :) Here is a first attempt for the Treasure box. We requested a second sample, in production as we speack, as this first one was not satisfactory enough. We have increased the quality of the rendering with a golden effect but it does not stand out enough. Moreover, the box should be matte and not shiny. And as you can see, it is really too small to hold the booklets : 

If we are well oriented on the production level itself for a delivery in September, the challenge will be around the transport as a deep crisis affects the world cargo shipping. We will have more information on this subject in July and August. For now, we are preparing for the launch of mass production.

For the next update, we should be able to post pictures of this mass production.... Exciting times! We will also post images from the book itself, Creatures.

Nous voici déjà au mois de juin ! Le beau temps revient et la campagne de vaccination avance bien ici en France… et nos avons reçu les premiers échantillons imprimés ! Plusieurs raisons de se réjouir :D Mais avant d’entrer dans le vif du sujet sur cette mise à jour de production, voici un rappel important concernant le Pledge Manager.

Ce soir, vous allez recevoir un email du Pledge Manage Backerkit vous demandant si vous souhaitez faire un dernier ajustement sur votre compte et les options que vous avez choisies. D’ici 48H votre compte passera au statut « locked ».

Vos CB ne seront débitées que dans un mois, en tout début juillet.

Si vous rencontrez la moindre difficulté, n’hésitez pas à nous écrire. Bon, nous recevons beaucoup de messages et nous restons une petite équipe… nous nous efforçons de répondre à tout le monde mais cela peut prendre un peu de temps, patience :) Si vous n’avez aucune nouvelle après une semaine, relancez-nous.

Pour ceux qui ont aussi souscrit au projet Encyclo, pas mal de parties sont des doublons, désolés pour cela. Mais vous allez découvrir de nouvelles images de production ^^ Notez aussi que les CB pour le Pledge manager de Créatures ne seront débitées qu'en juillet, dans un mois.

Mise à jour de production

Ce dernier mois, la production a connu de grandes avancées ! Ce n’est peut-être pas la plus partie la plus glamour, mais lorsque vous êtes des auteurs indépendants comme nous, vous devez gérer toute la partie production et logistique en plus de la création des livres. Et ce n’est pas une mince affaire. Ce mois-ci, nous avons eu de nombreux échanges avec l’imprimeur afin que soient produits les échantillons en vue de la production de masse.

Les recevoir est toujours un moment très particulier ! Après des années de travail, nous avons entre les mains les premiers résultats concrets de notre travail. Et nous sommes heureux de partager ce moment avec vous :)

Nous sommes très contents globalement ! Le coffret pour les bonus n'a pas été validé. Ce premier test n'est pas assez satisfaisant. Nous avons augmenté la qualité du rendu avec un effet doré mais il ne ressort pas assez. De plus, la boîte devrait être matte et non brillante. Et vous comme le voyez elle est vraiment trop juste pour accueillir les livrets. Le fabricant réalise un nouvel essai en ce moment. 

Si nous sommes bien orientés au niveau production elle-même pour une livraison en septembre, le défi va se jouer autour du transport alors qu’une lourde crise touche le transport maritime mondial. Nous aurons plus d’informations sur ce sujet en juillet puis en août. Pour l’instant, nous préparons le lancement de la production de masse. 

Pour la prochaine mise à jour, nous devrions être en mesure de poster des photos de cette production de masse…. ! Nous posterons également des images du livre lui-même, Creatures.

Hello all!

Tonight we publish a production update :) During this month of April, production has progressed well. All digital files have been validated. Here is the schedule announced by our two manufacturers (Europe for the books, China for the accessories):

• May: sample before mass production launch for accessories. We will post pictures!
• June: Mass production and assembly
• July: Shipping
• August: Delivery in our warehouses at the beginning of August if all goes well. It's a bit later than expected, so we'll wait until early  September to make the deliveries and avoid the summer period.
• September: Delivery of your rewards

It's a little later than we hoped but we know that our manufacturers  are doing their best in a complex period. In any case, we apologize for this delay and we hope that the PDFs will allow you to wait :)

On another note, if you missed the Encyclopedia campaign, we are opening a Late pledge for two weeks. It's over here. Encyclopedia project is also in production and will be delivered at the same time as Creatures.

The next step is the samples before the mass production. We can't wait to receive them! We'll update again as soon as we have images to share :)

Encyclopedia FAQ + STL files +More!

First of all, a huge THANK YOU for your support during the launch of our Encyclopedia book. In only one week, you are more than 4000 backers, $350K of funding, many stretch goals reached... this start is FAR beyond our expectations.

Before getting into the hard part of this update, some important information about Encyclopedia Kickstarter :

1/ Read this FAQ which summarizes the questions about Encyclopedia KS we received.

2/ As a CREATURES backer, you will get a $15 credit to cover most of the shipping fees of Encyclopedia Kickstrarter. It's automatic, you don't have to do anything, it will be added to your Backerkit Encyclopedia account. We are currently investigating the possibility of increasing this credit for backers living in distant locations such as Australia or Canada to help cover most of the shipping fees of Encyclopedia. We will let you know asap !

3/ If you have pledged an All-In during Creatures KS, what you need is the $70 Collector pack + $20 for the Box. You will have the whole collection, at the best price and with all the stretch goals from both campaign ^^

4/ If you want to discover Fateforge and you only have the Creatures book, the $170 reward tier is for you: it includes the three books you are missing from the Tetralogy: Adventurers (player's book), Grimoire (book of magic) and of course the new one: the lorebook Encyclopedia.

We've updated your Backerkit accounts and the STLs for all three minis should be in there. You will receive an automatic email when the file is in your account.

Grotesque Feast cover WIP

Work on Iris' Grotesque Feast module continues. As a reminder, this is a bonus that will be sent as a PDF to everyone ^^

A First Artwork for Creatures 2

We are working on the second volume of Creatures! And SOOOO exctied to share this with you all :D This new Creatures volume will be dedicated to Canker and the Netherworld. The Canker is the age-old enemy in Eana's universe, a force of destruction and death nestled in the heart of the world. As for the Netherworld... we hope you will enjoy our work on this fantasy classic! As with the first volume of Creatures, several new playable species will be offered. Let’s begin witht he Grimlock aka The Simmaïans !

"The Simmaïans are the very first humanoid inhabitants of the Netherworld. They're known to surfacans as "grimlock", a disparaging term referring to the ugly, empty-eyed cannibal stalkers of the darken tribes. These subterraneans, on the other hand, call themselves the Simmainen, a term that expresses the idea of the first people."

Actual Play: The Butterfly's Dirge / EP 2

We share with you a new episode of the Butterfly’s Dirge actual play using Let's Role VTT. During the pledge manager, you will be able to grab this scenario as an addon ^^ Just in case, here is also the first episode. Enjoy !

Tout d’abord, un immense MERCI pour votre soutien lors du lancement de notre livre Encyclopedia. En seulement une semaine, vous êtes plus de 4000 souscripteurs, $350K de financement, de nombreux paliers atteints… ce démarrage dépasse de loin toutes nos espérances.
Avant de rentrer dans le dur de cette mise à jour, quelques informations importantes sur Encyclopedia :

1/ Lisez cette FAQ qui résume pas mal les questions que nous avons reçues (en anglais). 

2/ En tant que souscripteur de CREATURES, vous recevrez un crédit de 15 $ pour couvrir la plupart des frais d'expédition de l'Encyclopédie. C'est automatique, vous n'avez rien à faire, cela sera ajouté à votre compte Backerkit Encyclopedia. Nous sommes en train de voir s'il est possible d'augmenter ce crédit pour les souscripteurs habitant dans des localités lointaines comme l'Australie ou le Canada.

3/ Si vous avez pris un All-In, ce qu’il faut est la contrepartie à $70 Collector pack + $20 pour le Coffret. Vous aurez ainsi l’intégralité de la collection, au meilleur prix et avec tous les bonus ^^

Nous avons mis à jour vos comptes Backerkit et les STL des trois figurines devraient y apparaître. Vous allez recevoir un email automatique quand le fichier sera sur votre compte.
Si vous avez une difficulté avec vos fichiers, envoyez-nous un email. 

WIP de la couverture Festin grotesque

Le travail sur le scénario du Festin grotesque d’Iris se poursuit. Pour rappel, c’est un bonus qui sera envoyé en PDF à tout le monde ^^ Voici le travail en cours sur la couverture.

Une première illustration pour Créatures 2

Nous travaillons sur le second volume de Créatures ! Il sera consacré au Chancre et à l’Inframonde. Le Chancre est l’ennemi séculaire dans l’univers d’Eana, une force de destruction et de mort nichée au cœur du monde. Quant à l’Inframonde… nous espérons que notre travail sur ce classique de la fantasy vous plaira ! Comme pour le premier volume de Créatures, plusieurs nouvelles espèces jouables seront proposées. Voici le Torve, aka Simmaïen ^^

"Les Simmaïens sont les premiers habitants humanoïdes de l’Inframonde. Les surfaciens les connaissent sous la dénomination dépréciative de « torve », faisant référence à la laideur et aux yeux vides des traqueurs cannibales des tribus enténébrées. Ces souterraniens en revanche se nomment eux-mêmes les Simmaïnen, un terme qui exprime l’idée de peuple premier."
